Coinbase Global has announced a partnership with Lightspark to integrate the Bitcoin Lightning Network, a move expected to speed up and reduce the cost of Bitcoin transactions on the platform.

The collaboration will see Coinbase leverage Lightspark’s technology for key management and node hosting, enhancing the exchange’s transactional capabilities.

The partnership with Lightspark allows Coinbase to address some of the most pressing issues in Bitcoin transactions, such as slow processing times and high fees.

In a press release, Shan Aggarwal, Coinbase’s VP of Corporate and Business Development, expressed excitement over the partnership’s potential to break down payment barriers.
